Sharon Graham

Sharon M. Graham, age 64, passed away on Friday, March 27, 2015, with her family by her side, after a lengthy illness. Sharon was born to Alfred and Elizabeth “Betty” (Thibado) Tyler, on October 4, 1950, at Little Falls Hospital.

She attended the Town of Webb Schools, graduating in 1969.

She also attended MVCC, majoring in Advertising and Design. On May 8, 1971, Sharon was united with the love of her life, John (Jack) Graham, at Nicolls Memorial Church in Old Forge. During their marriage of almost 44 years, they raised their two children, Kristy and Timothy.  Sharon lived her entire life in Old Forge, never wanting to leave the area she loved so much.

Sharon was very gifted as a perfectionist and enjoyed being the owner of the Adirondack Custom Upholstery, in Old Forge, for over twenty five years. She loved seeing her customers eyes after they dropped of a “ratty” piece of furniture, and then returned to see the beautiful job she did on their piece of furniture. Sharon had to retire in 2008, due to her illness, and missed going to her shop every day since.

Sharon leaves her husband, Jack, daughter Kristy and her husband, Dave Rubyor, Woodgate, NY, and a son Timothy and his girlfriend Kelly, of Inlet, NY.

Also surviving are two cherished granddaughters, Amy and Laura Rubyor, and a great-grandson John Rubyor, all of whom she just adored and enjoyed being with.

She also leaves her mother, Elizabeth (Betty) Tyler of Boonville, and a brother she loved very much; Wilson, and his wife, Dawn Tyler of Hebron, CT.  She is also survived by brothers-in-law, Richard Graham and his wife, Janet, Jim Graham and Pete Holmes. Sisters-in-law Due and Dugan Seigle, Shelly and Mel Turner and Lori and Pete Frederick, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Sharon was predeceased by her dad, Alfred (Al) Tyler and her sister-in-law Jill Holmes.

Sharon’s family would like to thank Dr. Kaul of New Hartford, NY. Additionally a special thank you to her niece Missy Cooney and sister-in-law, Lori Frederick for the genuine outpouring of love, care and compassion they both gave to Sharon in her final days.  Sharon loved them both so very much.

A funeral service officiated by Rev. Lawrence Bartel was  held at Nicolls Memorial Church, on Crosby Blvd, Old Forge. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in the spring.  Arrangements were in care of Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. Boonville.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a gift to the Home Aide Service of the Central Adirondacks (HASCA), P.O. Box 25, Old Forge, NY 13420 as they gave Sharon special care during her final days, or to the Town of Webb Historical Association, P.O. Box 513, Old Forge, NY 13420.
