Friday March 13 was a fun day for SHARP participants. We rode in the festive St. Patrick’s Day parade, and enjoyed some delicious soup and homemade soda bread at the Old Forge Fire Hall.
The entertainment at the fire hall was an Irish singalong, and everyone knows that the Irish in Old Forge take their fun very seriously.
Since I am not really a news reporter I will not go into detail about how Tim Foley was “arrested,” but he was allowed back into the fire hall a little later. (He must have had a good lawyer.)
After our meal we attended the Town of Webb School’s musical, How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying. WOW! This was my first time attending the school play, and I must say, it was amazing!
Those kids really put on a great show! The acting, singing and dancing was outstanding.
The stage crew worked efficiently changing the scenes around.
And the creative work of the set construction and design crew did not go unnoticed. We really enjoyed ourselves.
On Wednesday, March 25, we will have the wonderful privilege of being entertained by a fine local musician, Bob Liddle.
SHARP strives to keep our seniors active and happy and we will certainly enjoy having Bob come perform for us. Feel welcome to join us. (See Bob’s bio in sidebar.)
SHARP is open to all independent senior citizens from Woodgate to Raquette Lake, and is a free program unless otherwise noted.
Lunch during our regular Wednesday sessions is provided by the Town of Webb Health Center Fund.
We meet at Niccolls Memorial Church in Old Forge from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Wednesday.
