Inlet Tourism Director Adele Burnett has announced the winners of the Cardboard Sled Races and Kids’ Snowmobile Race that were held on Saturday, February 28 during Inlet’s annual Frozen Fire & Lights event.
There were 21 entries for the Cardboard Sled Race.
Winners in Speed Class I, ages six and under, were: 1st – Boxy Boxy by Maddison Arey of Tupper Lake, 2nd – Barbie Car by Natalie Hitchcock of Eagle Bay, and 3rd – VW Groovy Bus by Courtney Hitchcock of Eagle Bay.
In Speed Class II, ages 7 to 12, winners were: 1st – ADK Chick by Ruby Lewin of Blue Mountain Lake, 2nd – Preston’s Trophy Depot by Preston Trumbauer of Inlet, and 3rd – Rocket by RJ Enos of Inlet.
Speed Class III, ages 13 and up, winners were: 1st – Winter Cruise by Raigan LaPorte of Eagle Bay, 2nd – USS Structural Integrity by Elyse Wyatt and Elliot Markle of Henrietta, and 3rd – Taylor’s Lambo by Ella Schmid of Thendara.
In the Most Duct Tape category Ella Schmid of Thendara was the winner with Taylor’s Lambo.
The winner in the Great Spirit category was Trenton Dickerson of Clinton with Amish Ambush.
Best in Show was won by Aiden Wolley and Tyler Woods of Stormville with Wolleybilt.
Raigan LaPorte of Eagle Bay was the winner in the Classic Sled category with Winter Cruise, a family creation which was also the winner of the 2015 Adirondack Cardboard Sled Racing Circuit.
Runner up was Ruby Lewin of Blue Mountain Lake with her sled ADK Chick.
Raigan and Ruby both competed in three of the five races and collected points for speed and decoration as well as points for attendance.
There were 10 entries in the Kids’ Snowmobile Race.
Kris VanWie Jr. of Baldwinsville was the winner of the Kitty Kat Race.
In the 120 Stock category, the winners were:1st – Cade McMick of Wyalusing, PA, 2nd – Bryce Ste-Marie of Inlet, and 3rd – Joseph Clark of Inlet.
The winners in the 120 Mod category were: 1st – Joseph Clark of Inlet, 2nd – Caden Parker of Corinth, and 3rd – Grace Heath of Inlet.
