Town of Webb senior Cameron Lenci, 17, has lived in Thendara his whole life.
He is looking forward to graduation and has narrowed his college choices down to three: Cortland State, Fulton Montgomery Community College and Brockport State.
He said he plans to study Sports Management.
“I’m very interested in sports; basketball is my favorite,” he said.
Cameron’s favorite classes are AP Government and gym.
“I like gym because of the sports and fitness activity, and AP Government teaches us how the world works,” he said.
Cameron said he has two favorite teachers, Mr. Cunningham and Mr. Kinney.
“They’re easy to talk to. They get what high school kids are going through,” he said.
Cameron is a member of the varsity soccer, baseball and basketball teams.
He plays the french horn and was previously a member of the school band.
He said he intends to help with this year’s school play, as a member of the Stage Crew.
Cameron is also a member of Key Club and Varsity Club.
In his spare time, he said he likes the hunt, kayak and ski.
“And of course I play a lot of sports,” he said.
Cameron said he enjoys all music, but mostly rap and country.
Dawn and Scott Lenci are his parents. Dawn is employed by Ace Hardware in Old Forge, and Scott owns and operates Skippy’s Vintage Toys in Hamden, NY.
Cameron’s has a younger brother Eric, who also attends Webb school.
For summer employment, Cameron works at DiOrio’s Supermarket in Old Forge.
He said his dad has influenced him the most, thanks to his fortitude. “He’s been through a lot,” he said.
Cameron has a dog, Carly, who he said he will miss when he leaves for school.
Some of his favorite school memories involve Columbus Day weekend, and all the school activities associated with it.
“I will come back to possibly play in the [alumni soccer] tournament,” he said.
As for graduation, Cameron said he can’t wait.
“I’m looking forward to a new beginning. I want to get away from the small town; looking forward to something new,” he said.
Cameron said he is going to miss Old Forge’s close-knit qualities; the way everyone knows everyone.
