Services held in Endicott for Stanley Ziemba, 85

Stanley A. Ziemba, 85, of Endwell, passed away peacefully to be in his Heavenly Home on August 28, 2011.

Stan, or Mr. Z as most people around these parts knew him, was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing at his camp at Seventh Lake, and at the Z camp in Inlet, NY in the Adirondacks.

He was a 26-year retiree of General Electric Company. He was a World War II Marine veteran participating in the Battle of Okinawa with the 3rd Amphibious Corps.

He was always very proud to have served his country.

He was very devoted to his family and the Catholic Church.

He was predeceased by his parents, Alexander and Antoinette Ziemba; an infant son, Martin; and brothers, Michael and Joseph Ziemba.

Stan is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Anne M. Ziemba; his devoted children: daughters, Mary Rose Ziemba of Anchorage, Alaska and Monica (Douglas) Egnaczyk of Manlius, NY; son and daughter-in-law John and Laura Ziemba of Middleton, NH; and his grandchildren Shawn, Emily and Daniel Freitas, John and Julia Egnaczyk, and Samuel and Nicholas Ziemba.

He is also survived by a sister, Louise Kozol; sisters and brothers-in-law, Josephine Ziemba, Lorraine Kodey, Bert and Irene Kodey, Joseph and Betty Kodey, and Mary Mahony; and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral Mass was held at St. Joseph’s Church of Endicott on Wednesday, August 31 officiated by Rev. Clarence Rumble and Deacon Dominick Rossi.

Burial followed at Maine Cemetery.
