The annual flower basket waterer’s volunteer thank-you dinner was hosted by CAP-21 at Van Auken’s Inne on Wednesday, September 24th.
All during the spring and summer, individuals give of their own time and vehicles to water the hanging baskets in Old Forge, Eagle Bay, Thendara, Big Moose, Stillwater and the Woodgate Library.
CAP-21 would like to extend its appreciation to the following volunteers who help beautify their communities:
From Eagle Bay: George Lapinsky, Jim and JoAnn Zurakowski, Bob and Ellie Stanton; from Old Forge and Thendara; Randy Yuckel, Dave Lacovino, Bill and Mary Ann Ransom, Art and Connie Milligan, Jimmy Cole, Tommy Smith, Deke Morrison, Eileen Tobin, Doug and Peg Masters, and the Town of Webb office staff.
Back up teams include Bob Brussel, Paul Mills, Fred Trimbach and Jim Ulrich.
From Stillwater, Frank Rudolph; and from Big Moose, Bill and Linda Keener.
We would also like to thank the Hanging and Removal team of J.B. Herron, Mike Ross and Dave Winslow and his employees.
After 16 years of coordinating the hanging flower basket program, Fred Trimbach has decided to hang up his watering can.
Fred will remain involved with the project but needs to cut back on his many community activities.
CAP-21 thanked Fred for his years of serving by honoring him with the designation of Master Waterer Extraordinaire, dinner for two, and his own pet pig watering can.
Fred has offered to train his replacement, so if you know of anyone who loves to give back to the community and has a semi-green thumb, please contact CAP-21 at 369-3353.
Donations to the flower basket and holiday basket programs are still welcomed. Please send your donations to CAP-21 Flower Fund, P.O. Box 642, Old Forge NY 13420 or donate on-line at www.cap-21.org .
