VIEW Running Colors 5K race set for October 18 in Old Forge

The 3rd Annual Running Colors 5K Race, a fun run/walk, will be held rain or shine on Saturday, October 18 at the Old Forge lakefront.

Running Colors is a unique 3.1 mile fun run and walk that is focused less on speed and more on crazy color fun with friends and family.

Excellus BC/BS has signed on as a major sponsor of the event through its Community Investment Program.

Along the route, participants will be blasted with non-toxic, environmentally-friendly  powdered color.

Runners and walkers are encouraged to begin the race wearing white so they can end covered in vibrant hues.

At the finish of the event there will be a color-throwing party followed by a public picnic. Concessions will be available, or you can pack your own picnic.

Pre-registration fee is $30 through October 16, or $35 from October 17 through the day of the event.

Children ages 10 and under can participate free of charge if accompanied by a paying adult.

Check-in will begin at 9 a.m. and the race starts at 11 a.m. The 5K will begin, and end at the Old Forge Lakefront.

Proceeds will benefit VIEW, the arts center in Old Forge.
