Over 100 book and animal fans visited Moose River Farm on Saturday, August 23 for an Authors’ Fair and an opportunity to meet the farm animals featured on the pages of co-host Anne Phinney’s book, “Finding My Way to Moose River Farm: Living with Animals in the Adirondacks.”
Attendees enjoyed touring the local farm and interacting with some of the animals including Fiona the free-range pot-bellied pig, donkeys Bing and Frankie, Rosemary the iguana, a stable of horses and a coop full of chickens.
A horse riding demonstration was provided by Courtney Holt.
Authors in attendance were Gary and Carol VanRiper, co-authors of the Adirondack Kids book series; William Guiffre, a retired educator and author of a number of children’s books; and Jeanne Selander Miller, local author of three memoirs.
