Inlet Public Library invites library supporters, art lovers, wildlife enthusiasts, and all folks who enjoy a good party to a special fundraiser to be held at the library on Wednesday, July 9 from 5 to 7 p.m.
Twenty framed artworks and prints from the collection of longtime library benefactor, Scott Stuart will be the featured attraction in a night of festivities that will include a blind silent auction, raffle, wine and hors d’oeuvres.
Penny Stuart, Scott’s widow has continued the couple’s longstanding legacy of giving to the Inlet Public Library by donating 20 works, limited edition fine art wildlife prints and photographs, from their collection.
One of the favorites, “Chicka-dee with Apples,” will be raffled that evening, and the other 19 will be part of a blind silent auction.
Bidders will place their bids on their favorites into the appropriate numbered box with the high bid being determined at the evening’s end.
Scott’s enthusiasm for art collecting is evident in the display; each is professionally and tastefully framed and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
Works are currently on display and can be previewed at the Inlet Public Library. Early bidding opportunities are now being accepted.
Auction organizer and library board member, Reggie Chambers summed up the event, saying, “We are so grateful to the longstanding generosity of Scott and Penny. We want to honor Scott’s legacy by coming together and supporting some of the things he was passionate about: the Inlet community, the library, wildlife art, and having a good time.”
Event admission is free. Attendees will receive a commemorative wine glass and free refills with a nominal donation to the library.
All proceeds from the evening will benefit the Inlet Public Library. For more information contact the Inlet Public Library: 315-357-6494.
