Services planned for Marbeth J. Minnie, 51

Marbeth Jayne Minnie of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Friday, June 13, 2014 at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family, following a sudden attack at her home.IMG_4307

She was born in Niagara Falls, NY on April 18, 1963, the daughter of Leo D. “Lee” and Laura (McCann) Minnie of Ransomville and Old Forge.

She graduated from Lewiston Porter High School and attended Niagara County Community College.

Marbeth was a certified dietary aide at Fairchaild Manor in Lewiston for over 14 years before becoming physically disabled.

With a peaceful acceptance and willful determination, she struggled with severe Crohn’s and Crohn’s reactive inflammatory and auto immune diseases most of her adult life.

She was highly cooperative with her numerous medical doctors enduring whatever was necessary for them to help her.

The prayers of many gave her strength and encouragement. She gave back examples of patience, peace, forbearance, resilience, simplicity and simple joy.

“Mar” especially enjoyed reading, watching movies and old TV series shows, “Living Faith” daily meditations, warm blankets, listening to her favorite soft rock music, special occasion family gatherings and time spent in the Adirondacks in Old Forge.

Marbeth will be remembered for her friendly, gentle, generous demeanor and for faithfully sending well-wishing cards to her family and friends.

In addition to her Mom and Dad, she is survived by two brothers: Leo D. (Karen) Minnie of Tustin, CA and Andrew J. Minnie of Old Forge; her niece and godchild Allie, and was the aunt of Molly, Leo IV “Zach” and Alek; dear friend of Becky and Bob Hayes.

She is likewise survived by a large family of many loving aunts, uncles and cousins. She also leaves her cherished cat, Sweetie.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Immaculate Conception Chruch in Ransom-ville with Rev. Joseph P. Badding officiating.

A Mass for the repose of her soul will be celebrated by Rev. Shane Lynch at St. Bartholomew Roman Catholic Church on Monday, August 18 at 8 a.m. followed by interment of cremains at Riverview Cemetery in Old Forge.

Memorials may be made in her name to the Old Forge Library, P.O. Box 128, Old Forge, NY 13420, St. Jude Hospital for Children,  or Our Lady of Fatima Shrine.
