The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) Utica Regional Office has issued the following traveler advisory for motorists in City of Utica:
Starting Thursday, June 19, at 8 a.m. motorists traveling on Oriskany Street wanting to go south on Route 5,8 & 12 will no longer be able to use the Route 5, 8 & 12 south ramp.
The ramp closure is needed to facilitate the construction of the new bridge over Oriskany Street and will be closed till the fall of 2015.
Signed detours will be utilized to advise motorists of the ramp closure and direct traffic to the appropriate detour routes.
