Town of Webb senior, Kennedy Scott, 18, was born and raised in Thendara and has attended the Webb school since kindergarden.
After graduation, she plans to attend Herkimer County Community College. There, she’s going to major in Business Administration.
“Someday, I hope to own and operate my own business—or manage a business for someone else,” Kennedy said. She has no particular industry in mind as of yet, but said the aield of business, and the responsibility of making decisions to expand and increase the profitability of an enterprise, is something she finds interesting.
Kennedy played a number of sports over the past years, but this year she said she’s just too busy to play.
“Volleyball is the sport I’ve missed most this year,” she said.
Kennedy’s favorite class is Economics with Mr. Kinney.
“It’s a tough choice—selecting a favorite. I like all my classes with Mr. Cunningham and Mr. Kinney,” she said. “Mr Kinney is really fun to work with; I’d have to say he’s my favorite teacher.”
In the summer Kennedy works full-time at the Old Forge Hardware Store.
“I love working there; it’s an absolute blast and my co-workers are hilarious,” she said.
When shes not working, Kennedy said she likes to be outdoors—mostly hiking.
In the winter, she said she spends as much time as she can skiing at McCauley Mountain in Old Forge.
Her parents are Dee and Wally Scott. Wally is a maintenance worker at Water’s Edge Inn in Old Forge.
Since Kennedy plans on commuting to college, she won’t be leaving the area, but says she looks forward to graduating and moving forward. She’s going to miss her friends a lot, she said.
