CAP-21 has been participating in an economic development workgroup sponsored by the Common Ground Alliance and The Adirondack Partnership.
The goal of this project has been to develop an Adirondack park-wide economic development strategy intended to assist in economic revitalization efforts throughout the Park.
This Adirondack Economic Development Strategy has been analyzing a tremendous amount of data, research and information.
This analysis has included availability of lodging accommodations and considerations; a review of “cluster” job sectors—such as health and wellness and forest products—which might lend themselves to further development; a review of job retention and expansion strategies; and the development of a “Trail Town” approach toward connecting towns and trails throughout the Park.
There will be a series of six information sessions scheduled throughout the Park to obtain public input on the ideas and strategies proposed in this economic development plan.
Through the good people at the Old Forge Library, CAP-21 will be hosting one of these regional events on Thursday, May 29 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the library located on Crosby Blvd.
There is some great information and ideas being put on the table, but we need your feedback on these strategies; so please come and participate in this important discussion.
Pre-registration is not required but appreciated.
Please call CAP-21 at (315) 369-3353 or on-line at info@cap-21.org to confirm your attendance.
The Adirondack Park Econ-omic Development Strategy is sponsored by the NYS Depart-ment of State and the Department of Environ-mental Conservation Community Smart Growth program.
