Carol Louise Gape, 75, passed away quietly in her sleep Friday, February 20, 2014 at her home in Bradenton, FL. She was born on December 19, 1938 in Jamestown, NY to Clara and Harry Menz, the fourth of five children.
She is survived by her loving husband, A. Raymond Gape, whom she married 57 years ago on November 17, 1956.
She is also survived by eldest son Robert E. of Otter Lake, and daugther Linda S. Dunton and her husband Tedward; by her eldest surviving sister-in-law Marie Menz and her surviving youngest brother Gary and Bernette Menz of Ransonville, NY.
She is also survived by a number of grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews.
Carol always took time for her family, relatives and grandchildren whom she loved dearly and who brought so much happiness to her life. She will be greatly missed.
She and her husband have been property owners in Otter Lake since 1980 and enjoyed the camaraderie of the folks in and around the Otter Lake community.
Carol’s family expresses a heartful note of thanks and appreciation for the cards and calls. No funeral is set. She will be cremated and return to Otter Lake in the summer where a memorial service is being planned at the Otter Lake Community Church. The date has not yet been set. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the church or to the Otter Lake Fire Department.
