Snofest: Sneak Peak snowmobile event returns to Old Forge on March 7, 8 & 9

The George T. Hiltebrant Recreation Center on North Street will be the site of the Central Adirondack Association’s 7th annual Snofest event on March 7, 8, and 9th.

The four major snowmobile manufacturers: Arctic Cat, Polaris, Ski-Doo and Yamaha, will premier their 2015 models as Old Forge is once again a stop on the Sneak Peak Nationwide Tour, bringing snowmobile enthusiasts an opportunity to be the first to preview next year’s line of sleds and gear.

Demo rides will also be provided, weather permitting.

A whole new line up of activities is planned for the weekend event.

On Friday, Snofest will open its doors at noon to view snowmobile accessory vendors Blizzard Trailers, Sledfreak, RPM Apparel, Camoplast and Awesome Specialties. Live music by Joe Bolton and John Christy begins at 4 p.m.

On Saturday, Snofest will be open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. North Country Heli-flight will be on location to give five or 10 minute helicopter rides for a fee, weather permitting.

Don’t miss this great opportunity to get a bird’s eye view of the Town of Webb trail system and its beautiful Adirondack scenery.

Ice carvings will be going on throughout the day as well as tethered hot air balloon rides from 4 to 6 p.m. by Sunkiss Balloons, also weather permitting. Live music by Paul Case and Kids Again starts at 4 p.m. A spectacular fireworks display will top off the evening at 6:30 p.m.

On Sunday, Snofest continues with vendors and demo rides from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
