This year’s carnival theme, Old Forge Loves the Olympics, celebrates Valentine’s Day and the winter games with a variety of Olympic-themed activities planned throughout the weekend in recognition of Erin Hamlin’s history-making bronze medal win in women’s luge.

Hamlin, of Remsen, and her family enjoy skiing at McCauley.

Also being honored will be Kyle Riedman, a lover of sports and the outdoors who tragically passed away on Friday, February 7 following a snowmobile accident.

Members of the Town of Webb School baseball and Little League teams will be marching in Friday night’s parade in Kyle’s memory.

Other marchers who will be led by grand marshal and former Olympian Louie Ehernsbeck include the Polar Bear Ski Team, the Mohawk Valley Ski Team, the Central Adirondack Mountain Bike Association on fat bikes, former Carnival kings and queens as well as the soon-to-be coronated king and queen, Tim and Patty Foley.

The parade begins at 6:45 p.m. from the Town of Webb School bus circle.

The daredevil jumpers at Saturday night’s festivities have announced that their performance will be also dedicated to Kyle.
