Ad’k Cardboard Sled Race Circuit sets local races

Four races remain on the Adirondack Cardboard Sled Race Circuit, with racers needing three events of the season’s five to qualify for the circuit championship.

Sunday, February 16 at 1 p.m. – Indian Lake Winterfest’s Red Neck Cardboard and Duct Tape Race

Sunday, February 16 at 3 p.m. – Old Forge Winter Carnival at McCauley Mt. Cardboard Sled Race sponsored by the TOW School Class of 2015

Saturday, February 22 at 1 p.m. – Inlet’s Frozen Fire and Lights Cardboard Sled Races

Saturday, March 1 at 1 p.m. – Famous Cardboard Sled Race at Oak Mt. in Speculator.

No pre-registration is necessary to compete. Racers sign up the day of event.

Cardboard Sled racing involves imagination, ingenuity, cardboard, tape and unpredictable wintry conditions.

Racers must be prepared for heavy snow, icy tracks and the occasional winter thaw affecting the condition of courses.

The race circuit is open to all ages, but there will only be one champion walking away with a trophy and bragging rights for an entire year.

Winner of the circuit will be announced at Oak Mountain’s March 1st Winter Carnival Event.
