Darwin P. Johnston, 74, passed away on January 15, 2014. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Patricia Ann Verblaw Johnston, son Gregory Johnston (Karry), daughter Catharine Johnston-Brooks (Roger), grandchildren (Ian, Abagail, Jack and Emma), and sister Catharine Westlake.
Darwin was born on October 21, 1939 in Jamestown, NY. Darwin worked for Oneida Silversmiths for over 25 years, retiring as Vice President of Personnel.
Darwin was a member of two different faith congregations. In the summer he was a member of Niccolls Memorial Presbyterian Church of Old Forge, NY.
In the winter he was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Brandon, FL.
Darwin was a mentor and a leader. He was known for his generosity and his compassion. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
A memorial service was held January 18 at the First Presbyter-ian Church of Brandon. A second memorial service is planned for this summer in Old Forge, NY.
