Celebration of Life planned for Nancy Wells, 67

Nancy Rhame Glenn Wells, 67, of Old Forge lost her fight against cancer on January 7, 2014 in Charlotte, NC.

She was born on March 19, 1946 in Manhattan to Robert and Marjory Glenn. Nancy graduated from Olney Friends School in Ohio and then attended  North Texas University and Syracuse University.  phone pictures 1814 168

Nancy and her dear sister, Marjoy Glenn Boscherini of Florence, Italy had the opportunity to travel and live all over the world with their parents. Over the course of her life Nancy lived in New York, Virginia, Tennessee, Burma, Florida, Texas and then back to New York.   

After years of living in the Texas heat Nancy returned to New York in 1985 and owned and operated Lincklaen Farm, a perennial nursery, in Cuyler, NY. While touring the Adirondack mountains in 1996, Nancy fell in love with the beautiful mountains and lakes of the Adirondacks and made Old Forge her home. She worked for Rivet Realty handling their rental department prior to starting her own company, Adirondack Vacation Rentals.

She is survived by her only child, Alexandra Case of Matthews, NC and her son-in-law, Ernie Case, also of Matthews, NC; her grandchildren Garrett and Lauren Mowers, of Matthews, NC and Danielle Podjeko of Cicero, NY; her sister, Marjory Boscherini and husband Mario Boscherini of Florence, Italy; and her only nephew Massimo Boscherini and his wife Lisa and daughter Dafne, all of Florence, Italy. She is also survived by her companion Greg Wells of Old Forge. She is preceded in death by her son Brandon, her parents and her canine companions, Woofie and Tessie.

A celebration of Nancy’s life will be held at View, the arts center in Old Forge on Sunday, January 19 from 2 to 5 p.m.
