Frank C. Ritz, Jr., 92, of Old Forge, died November 1, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Utica.
He was born August 7, 1921, in Old Forge, a son of the late Frank, Sr. and Jessie (Hutchin) Ritz. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He worked as a mechanic for NYS DOT.
Frank was a member of Covey-Pashley American Legion Post 893, and was a lifelong member of the Town of Webb Fire Department. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter.
He is survived by his children, Terry Ritz of Old Forge, Connie Jean Kelly and her husband, Don, of NC, and Steve Ritz and his wife, Diane, of Old Forge; grandchildren, Matthew Ritz and his wife, Rebecca, Miranda Kelly, Jessie Palisin and her husband Brian, Casey Ritz and his wife, Kyle, Brian Ritz and his wife, Tiffany, and Aimee Ritz; great-grandchildren, Johnny, Charlie, Taylor, Natalie, Luna, Aiden, Maxine, Leo, Sawyer and Eliza; and a sister, Mildred Van Vliet of FL. He was predeceased by his sisters, Kathleen, Marian, June, May and Helen, and brothers, John, Herb, and Alvin.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Riverview Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.
