Forestport Town Board played no role in reducing the Highway Dept. budget

Open Letter to the Town of Forestport Taxpayers

I am Bill Gardner, Highway Superintendent for the Town of Forestport. Over the past few months I have been stabbed in the back and thrown under the rug by Parker Snead.

Now that it is election time he wants to make out that everything is good—WRONG! Parker Snead is the biggest hypocrite that has ever been put on a pair of shoes. He has no managerial experiences and relies on others to make himself look good.

My job is the safety of our town. When I was told by the Town Attorney and the NYSDOT not to open the bridges until everything was in place, that is what I did. I didn’t hide anything from the taxpayers, which has been told in local newspapers and web sites.

When it came time to do the budget, I had a meeting with Bill Hasenauer to reduce part of our Highway budget. Bill agreed with what I had proposed to reduce the tax levy. The Town Board made no decision in this; all they did was agree to it.

I will not accept Parker’s thank you that he put in the paper. He is a back stabber.

Thank you,

Bill Gardner
