Kudos to Forestport Planning Board

An Open Letter to Board Members of the Town of Forestport:

On June 11, 2012, my wife and I had the opportunity to attend a Forestport Planning Board Meeting. This letter is to express our sincere gratitude for the outstanding job both Brad Smith and Kim Kratzenberg displayed at that meeting.

They acted in a very professional manner dealing with all the cases that were scheduled to be heard, including a reappearance of a business owner, who needed to provide prior requested documents. Other current businesses and proposed business cases were also presented.

Comments, concerns, and complaints about “property maintenance” and the rules, regulations and enforcement of them are “universal” to all municipalities; and a subject, which is never easy and always unpleasant to determine and enforce.

What impressed us most was Kim and Brad’s diligence in following code and code requirements requested of homeowner’s and/or business owners. It is the follow-up that helps make Forestport a nice place to live. By them following the code and making sure there is compliance, certainly ensures a safer home and business environment for all. We believe this is what the Town of Forestport residents would expect.

Please extend our thanks for a job well done on their part and for not backing down on what New York State and Town Codes dictate and for advising the Planning Board of state and local code requirements. They are truly looking out for the residents and the Town of Forestport’s best interest.

Kind Regards,

James C. and

Ruth H. Kernan, Jr.
