View announces October workshop

View will be offering a variety of workshops during the month of October.

The Power or Great Fiction Writing – A two-day workshop. Saturday, Oct. 12 and Sunday, Oct. 13, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Participants will learn secrets of powerful fiction writing from the creation of storyboards to the development of memorable characters.

The cost is $125 or $100 for View members. A light lunch is included both days.

The instructor is bestseller and award-winning writer David Hazard.

Roger Hyndman Original Holiday Greeting Cards – A two-day workshop on Saturday, Oct. 12 and Sunday Oct. 13, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Create holiday cards using monoprint and solarplate printmaking processes.

Use the basic tools of the printmaker, develop artistic creativity, appreciate the simplicity of plate processing, and produce high quality artwork.

The cost is $150 or $100 for View members. There is also a $45 materials fee.

Especially for Ewe – Monday, Oct. 14, from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Participants will create artwork, suitable for framing, using the ancient craft process of felting.

There will also be an opportunity to make a few small felted bowls that can be used to hold a variety of objects.

The cost is $40 or $30 for members. There is also a $30 materials fee. The instructor is Sandi Cirillo.

Fall Splendor Basket – Saturday Oct. 19, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Participants will make oblong baskets, woven with a combination of flat, flat oval reed, and seagrass in all the colors of the season.

This is for all levels of weavers.

The cost is $45 or $40 for View members. There is also a $25 materials fee. The instructor is Linda Allen.

Space is limited and pre-registration for each workshop is required.
