Energy savings topic of workshop

David Muth, a home energy assessor with the Mohawk Valley Community Action Agency, will conduct a workshop on how to cut home energy costs at the Old Forge Library on Wednesday, September 11 at 3 p.m.

Muth will offer do-it-yourself advice on how to reduce energy costs in operation of heating and cooling systems, hot water heaters, appliances and lighting.

The program will be helpful to homeowners as well as renters. All who attend the workshop will receive three compact fluorescent bulbs.

The workshop is free and open to the public. It is part of the Empower New York Program and is sponsored by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) and developed by Cornell Cooperative Extension and NYSERDA.
