Old Forge Library readies open mic night for writers

Writers, aspiring writers and members of the public are invited to share and read from their own work or to come and enjoy readings by others at a Coffeehouse Open Mic Night at the Old Forge Library on Wednesday, August 14 at 7:30 p.m.

Featured reader and emcee will be Peter Obourn.

Obourn, a longtime summer resident of Rondaxe Lake, holds an MFA in creative writing from Lesley University.

His short fiction and poetry has been published in many literary journals.

Recently his story, Morgan the Plumber, published in the North Dakota Quarterly, was nominated for a Pushcart Prize.

For planning purposes, anyone interested in participating in the event is asked to call the library at (315) 369-6008 in advance.

The event is funded by Adirondack Center for Writing.
