Jolly Moosers Bake, Craft, Flea Market set July 13th

The Jolly Moosers will host their annual Bake Sale, Craft Show and Flea Market on Saturday, July 13 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Big Moose Fire Hall.

Local crafters and bakers from Old Forge, Boonville, Big Moose and neighboring towns will be selling a variety of items such as baskets, wooden items, rag rugs, knitwear and baked goods, too. For the first time, frozen meals including soups will also be sold.

The Jolly Moosers are also hosting a food tent with hot dogs, drinks and homemade beef BBQ.

The Big Moose Fire Company will be putting on their fundraiser at the same location with a chicken BBQ meal for $10. That will start at 11 a.m. until they are sold out.

The Jolly Moosers women are a group 80 members and have been supporting the local community since 1956. This is their big annual fundraiser. The group selects recipients from their fundraising efforts based upon need. Last year the group raised $800.

The group also has a raffle basket with all things “moose and Adirondack”. Raffle tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5 and will be on sale on the 13th. The drawing will be held on Tuesday, August 7th during the Jolly Moosers annual summer dinner. All proceeds go to support the food pantries at Niccolls Memorial Presbyterian Church and St. Bartholomew’s Catholic Church.

The Jolly Moosers are always open to new members. Membership fees are $5. For information about the event, or to join, call 315-357-2047 or email: jollymooser@gmail.com.
