Palmer Point and the Central Adirondack Sailing Association (CASA) were excited to host the 2015 Annual Sunfish Regatta on Sunday, July 26.
The Nelsons, the new owners of Palmer Point, were particularly excited to host the Sunfish Regatta in 2015, since 50 years ago, Dave Palmer, the original owner of Palmer Point, decided to host a sailing regatta which relaunched sailboat racing on Fourth Lake after a multi-decade hiatus.
Sailboat racing on Fourth Lake has been in continuous existence with races every summer since that regatta at Palmer Point in 1965.
The results of the Regatta were as follows:1st – Meg Lorraine; 2nd – Charlie Lorraine;
3rd – Lou Steigerwald; 4th – Amy Steigerwald; 5th – Dave Poyer, 6th – Guy Milling.
CASA thanks John Jeffery and Mark Steigerwald for coordinating the races and Palmer Point for providing food, beverages and prizes for the sailors.
