A sculpture, the 100 Plus Celebration Tree, donated by longtime Old Forge Library patrons, the Mulvihill family was unveiled at a ceremony held at the library on Friday, July 17.
The sculpture honors the library as it enters its second century of serving the community and provides an opportunity to acknowledge and memorialize individuals or businesses who support the library.
Mounted on the wall, the tree was crafted of metal by artist Richard Mulvihill and designed by Suzanne Mulvihill Firsching.
Library patrons can honor a loved one, a family or a business by purchasing varying levels of leaves and fruit which will be engraved with the honoree’s name and added to the tree branches.
Community members joined in the celebration that included light refreshments, music by Dan Vellone and an opportunity to meet the Mulvihill family of artists.
