Inlet Crock Pot Party thanks

Yes, we were crocked! The first annual crock pot gathering was held in Inlet on Saturday, March 8 with 17 crock pots present. The event brought 17 varieties of soup/stews to the table. Bread, crackers, spreads, beverages and desserts were shared among the 32 crockers.

Cauliflower, carrot, chicken/rice, wedding soup, taco, chowders, bisques and beef vegetable, to name a few, were there for the sampling. Containers were available to take your favorites home for later.

A People’s Choice Award was handed out after everyone voted on their favorite. The first annual award went to Kay Carmichael for her carrot soup.

Who would think that 32 people could get crocked in two hours? Donations were collected for each crock pot and others who stayed to eat. A total of $273 was raised and will be given to the local Food Pantry.

Thanks to all who attended.
