Joe Brophy
Joseph F. Brophy, 86, of Old Forge, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 4, 2012 at Sunset Nursing Home in Boonville.
He was born on January 6, 1926 in Rochester, NY, a son of the late Martin and Margaret Brophy. He graduated from Aquinas High School in Rochester and enlisted in the US Army, serving in Germany during WWII.
After graduating from the University of Rochester, he married Joan Stutz in 1952 and they had six children who were the light of his life.
He worked at Utica Mutual Insurance Company for several years and then at Eastman Kodak Company for 36 years until his retirement in 1986.
He and Joan then moved to Old Forge permanently after having had a vacation home there for many years.
