Thank You: 2012 Inlet Memory Walk nets over $5,000

Our 3rd Adirondack Memory Walk was a huge success.

We had approximately 60 walkers participating and all five golf carts in use for those that chose not to walk the distance.

The event raised $5,051 which will be split 60%/40% with Alzheimer’s and the Resource Center for independent Living (RCL) group that meets in Inlet every Wednesday.

Our committee would like to personally thank the Schmid family for allowing us to honor Walter Schmid in a meaningful way by using a ski boot with poles on our t-shirts this year.

His contribution to cross country skiing in Inlet will forever leave memories in our hearts and minds. Continue reading

Card of Thanks

In the early morning hours of Tuesday, July 24th, a bear attempted to gain entry into the Candy Cottage by ripping the boards off the exterior wall.

I would like to thank the Old Forge Police Department for their quick response who in turn notified DEC Officials Russ Ritzel and Steve Heerkens and wildlife tech Christina Domser.

The bear caused significant damage, which has since been repaired.

We are grateful for everyone’s immediate response.

Card of Thanks

Jeff and I wish to sincerely thank everyone in the community for their prayers, mass cards, flowers, plants, and delicious meals that were showered on us during my recent illness. Helping the caregiver really helps the family.

There is no other place on the planet we would rather live than Old Forge, New York. The community makes the town.

Thanks again for thinking of us…

Phoebe & Jeff Greene, Old Forge

Card of Thanks

My family and I thank everyone for all the cards and prayers we have received and for the beautiful flowers sent for Bob’s funeral. They are greatly appreciated.

His family and friends in the North Country and the South will miss him, but I know he’s having his own family reunion.

The “Damn Yankee” became a southern gentleman in the truest sense of the words.

Once again, thank you all.
