All Town of Webb parents and community members are invited to attend a Drug and Alcohol Awareness Night at View on Thursday, May 30 from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
Guest speaker will be Michael Nerney, a consultant in Substance Abuse Prevention and Education who has over thirty years experience in the field. An internationally known lecturer, Nerney has served as consultant to a number of federal and state agencies, including the Federal Office of Substance Abuse Prevention, New York State Education Department, Social Services, and Department of Correction Services. He has been a consultant for two of the major television networks and has appeared on the ABC network’s program 20/20.
Topics that will be discussed by Nerney include understanding the adolescent brain, effects of drugs and alcohol on teens, and help with parenting teens.
The program is sponsored by Catholic Charities of Herkimer County, Herkimer County Prevention Council, Town of Webb Police Benevolent Association, Enchanted Forest/ Water Safari, and MAC’s Safe Ride.
