Inlet Historical Society open house set May 25

The Inlet Historical Society will hold an Open House in its new building at 147 Route 28 in downtown Inlet on Saturday, May 25 at 11 a.m.

During the event, the organization’s new sign will be unveiled. The sign, which was funded by Inlet Historical board member Waddie Kalil, was designed by KD Wheeler Custom Signs of Queensbury.

A viewing of the Society’s collection and refreshments will follow the unveiling.

The Historical Society is in the midst of a 2013 building fund drive—the 400 Club. Due to an outpouring of support, the campaign has currently raised 50 percent of the funds needed for capital improvements.

“As the summer season nears, we are pleased to announce that new windows and doors will be installed to better enhance the building for storage of the collection and aesthetics,” said Mitch Lee, Inlet Historical Society member.

The building will be open daily during the summer and all are welcome to stop by and commemorate Inlet’s historical past.
