Raquette Lake group announces name change

The long-time organization, Raquette Lake Property Owners Association, Inc. (RLPOA),  has changed its name and is now known as the Raquette Lake Preservation Foundation, Inc. (RLPF).

According to Kenneth Hawks, president of the organization, the change reflects the fact that the organization is not a property owner’s association per se, but is dedicated to the preservation of the lake and surrounding area, as well as the education of the public on the merits of Raquette Lake.

Hawks said the organization will continue to maintain its four-phase aquatic anti-invasive aquatic plant program of Prevention, Detection, Education, and Remediation.

The new website, www.rlpf.org, will continue to promote Raquette Lake and its surrounding watershed. Membership is open to any individual or business with an interest in Raquette Lake.
