Jason Landl, a senior at the Town of Webb School, has been selected to receive a congressional competitive nomination to the United States Air Force Academy. Landl was notified of his selection in a letter from Congressman Bill Owens.

“Your dedication to academics, extracurricular activities, involvement in the community and commitment to serve your country were deciding factors in our nomination process,” Owens stated in the letter.

Through the competitive nomination, Landl’s name has been submitted with a group of names from Owens’ Congressional District for nomination to a limited number of spots.

It is now up to the admissions office at the United States Air Force Academy to decide whether or not to offer him an appointment.

He is the son of Cherie and Robert Landl of Inlet.
