View’s ‘The Wild Life’ exhibit opening with Friday reception

View’s latest exhibit, “The Wild Life”, which will highlight wildlife in the Adirondacks, will be on display beginning Saturday, December 8.

The featured works include wildlife photography, sculpture, artist-made hunting implements, and watercolors.

The artwork will touch on issues of habitat coexistence and encroachment, the inherent beauty of the wild, and the balance or imbalance between the wild world and our own environment. Featured artists include Eric Dresser, Jeanette Fournier, JC Parker, Bob Ripley, and Tricia Zimic.

Two exhibitions will open concurrently: “The ArtVentures of Tom Yacovella” and “Wildlife Expressions and Tales” by photographer Don Andrews.

An opening reception and preview will be held on Friday, December 7 from 5 to 7 p.m. It is free and open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to show their wild side and arrive wearing antlers, tails, or any other type of wild apparel.

In addition to the traditional artwork featured, hunting weapons will be shown throughout the galleries. Throughout the exhibit View will feature traditional works by nationally known artists Dan Landis, Roy Painter, John Scifres, Charles Sinclair, and Joseph Weed.

Exhibition admission is $10/$5 members. Children 12 and under are admitted free. View is a multi-arts center located in Old Forge. To learn more about View visit www.Viewarts.org or call (315) 369-6411.
