Members of the team missing are: Peg Brussel, Connie Milligan, Tom Smedley, Dave Lacovino, Bill & Mary Ann Ransom, Jim & Lani Ulrich, and Frank Rudolph.

The community Flower Basket program, sponsored by CAP-21, is winding down its 14th year. With the great weather this season the hanging flower baskets were exceptionally beautiful and the town constantly receives praise about how much the flowers add to the look of the area.

Under the capable direction of Flower King Fred Trimbach, the hanging basket program extends through Forestport, Thendara, Old Forge, Eagle Bay and Big Moose.

Fred gives full credit to his cadre of community volunteers who freely give their time to ensure that the baskets remain fresh and vibrant.

The official thank you for these volunteers was held at Van Auken’s Inne on Wednesday, September 27.

This is a great group and a great community project that just adds another reason why we all love to live and play in this area.

CAP-21 is currently exploring the possibility of implementing a winter Main Street basket program.

The hanging flower basket program is paid for through business and personal donations and is currently operating at a deficit.

If you are interested in supporting this project please contact CAP-21 at (315) 369-3353 or donate on line at www.cap-21.org.
