Mykel Pepper & Mike Sapienza wed

Mykel Pepper happily married Michael Sapienza on Saturday, July 21, 2012 at The Rabbit Room in the Historic Lower Mill in Honeyoye Falls, NY. Pastor Lawrence Bartel officiated, with family and friends in attendance for the celebration.

Mykel grew up in Old Forge where she was a familiar face working for Mr. and Mrs. Apple at the Farm Restaurant, and for Kathy and Paul Rivet at Five Corners Café during her college years.

She attended Nazareth College in Pittsford where she received her Masters in Music Education. She is currently teaching 5th and 6th grade General Music and Chorus in the East Rochester School District. She also moonlights as a waitress at The Melting Pot in Rochester.Mike, an avid golfer, caddied at The Country Club of Rochester during high school and college. A terrific saxaphone player, he also graduated from Nazareth College with his Masters in Music Education.  He is a junior high Instrumental Music teacher, and conductor of the Jazz Band, in the East Irondequoit School District.  He moonlights weekends playing sax with the Rochester-area premier band, Me and the Boyz.

The couple is currently back home in West Irondequoit following an exciting honeymoon in Jamaica during Hurricane Isaac.

Proud parents are Philip and Caroline Pepper of Thendara and Jim and Kim Sapienza of Irondequoit.

Caroline said it was a wonderful celebration with the Pepper family simultaneously enjoying a mini family reunion with all three Pepper siblings and seven cousins in attendance.

Phil’s sister, Patricia of Ohio, and her three children were able to attend, as well as brother Peter, wife Bette and their three boys, Eric, Mark and Bryan. Eric traveled from Colorado, Mark from Nevada, and Bryan from Alaska, much to the delight of their mother.

And if those weren’t good enough reasons for a party, it was also guest Kristin Frymire’s 50th birthday.
