The first spring Adirondack Outdoor Expo is being planned for Saturday and Sunday, April 27 and 28 in Old Forge by organizers Scott Locorini and Chip Kiefer, consultant Leo Maloney of the NY State Outdoorsmen Hall of Fame, and event coordinator Beth Tickner.

The event will take place at the George T. Hiltebrant Recreation Center on North Street.

“We’re hoping to not only fill the pavilion with vendors, but to also hold outdoor demonstrations and seminars throughout both days. It will encompass an awful lot of the outdoor recreational opportunities available here in the Central Adirondacks,” Kiefer said.

The Expo will feature fishing and hunting, in addition to hiking and biking, canoeing and kayaking, camping and tenting and outdoor photography. The committee also plans to offer interactive shooting ranges and other activities.

“This is our first effort to try to combine all there is to do outdoors in one event,” Kiefer said.

The team of organizers welcomes anyone who would like to become a vendor or who would be interested in leading any instructional seminars to call (315) 369-6699, 369-5393, or email: AdkOutdoorExpo@gmail.com.

Sponsors of the event are Whitewater Challengers/ Adirondack Exposure, Souvenir Village, Water’s Edge Inn and Conference Center and Old Forge Camping Resort.
