DINNER & SHOW…

Though not unusual for Manhattanites to hail a cab for a night on the town, it may more be rare that their destination is as far away as Old Forge’s entertainment district, which includes the historic Strand Theatre and numerous restaurants and night spots. Or maybe not, or at least less so, according to Town of Webb Publicity Director Mike Farmer. Afterall, it was Farmer who arranged a big screen ad campaign last winter which touted the recreational virtues of the area and played over Times Square. “Old Forge draws people from far and near, and The Strand is one of our crown jewels,” he said. The passengers of the NYC Taxi, shown above, were probably uncertain as to the availability of late-night return cabs, which would explain why the cabbie was asked to linger in the Strand’s  parking lot. Farmer said he has questioned New York City’s prospects in the past—being so far from Old Forge and all—but that he is reconsidering. Photo by Mike Farmer
