New pastel art exhibit to opens at Old Forge Library on May 25th

The Old Forge Library will have a new exhibit, “Meet the Adirondack Pastel Society,” on display from May 25 through June 30th.

The exhibit will showcase the work of pastel artists from around the Adirondack region and will be presented in conjunction with the National Pastel Exhibition that is currently on display at View.

An opening reception for the exhibit will be held Friday, June 1 from 1 to 5 p.m.The Adirondack Pastel Society (APS) is open to any artist working in the medium of soft pastel and to any person or organization wishing to promote participation in the medium. APS was founded in 2008 and makes its home at “The Shirt Factory” in Glens Falls.

The mission of the APS is to provide exhibiting opportunities to pastel artists and to educate the public, gallery owners, and collectors about the merits and proper care of paintings in pastel.
