The Raquette Lake Fish & Game Club will hold its 7th Annual Lamphear Memorial Fishing Derby on Friday and Saturday, May 18 and 19th.

This event is sponsored by Raquette Lake Parks & Recreation, Hamilton County Federation of Sportsmen Inc. and Raquette Lake Fish & Game Club.

Beginning at 5 p.m. on Friday and ending at 1 p.m. Saturday, contestants can fish for bullhead, lake trout, perch and brook trout. There is a separate adult and junior division (kids under 16) for the contest. Entry fee for adults is $20 and $10 for juniors.

Registration forms are available at the Raquette Lake Hotel & Tap Room which is also the weigh-in station.

Top three places in each adult category get cash prizes. That’s 12 ways to win some money for your fishing expertise—or luck!

First place plaques will be personalized with name and fish and mailed to the lucky winners after the contest.

Bring your lanterns and crawlers and fish for bullhead from the shores on Friday night. Or rent a boat and try your luck on the 99 miles of shoreline Raquette Lake has to offer.
