Kevin and Anna Merritt recently opened KevAnna’s Coffee Shop on Route 28, just south of the blinking light in Woodgate, and along the C7E snowmobile trail.

KevAnna’s serves up soups, sandwiches, weekend specials and their house signature specialties—mini donuts and Paul deLima coffee.

Anna said the bite-size donuts are made fresh to order and their customers can watch them being made right before their eyes, a concept that proved popular over their years as a vendor at Syracuse’s Regional Market.

Their booth, Anna’s Snack Shack, was a fixture at the Regional Market for many years, and according to Anna it was the mini donut/Paul deLima coffee combo that kept customers coming back.

“Our customers felt strongly about buying locally made products, and with Paul deLima being a Syracuse-based company, they were naturally drawn to our booth,” Anna said.

The Merritts moved to Woodgate from Fayetteville last May. Like many, the couple felt a special  attachment to the area following years of visitation. Kevin is originally from Oriskany, and Anna’s family had a vacation home on Snowbird Lake.

Once their children were grown and out of the house, the Merritts made the move and are now enjoying the next chapter of their lives.

KevAnna’s is open daily and also sells homemade gifts and locally-produced products, such as NY state maple syrup.
