Frankie Zammiello of Frankie’s Taste of Italy is well known for his cooking and gelato-making skills, but a new collaborative effort with View has exposed another of his artistic passions—portrait photography. Zammiello came up with the concept for a Faces of Old Forge calendar earlier this year and proposed the idea to View as a fundraising opportunity.
He provided the photographs, and with the layout assistance of View’s Media Manager Jody Pritchard, the newly released calendar is currently available for sale, with proceeds to benefit the arts center.

“I’ve always done photography, especially portraits. I came up with the idea for the calendar after photographing the everyday people—the backbone of Old Forge—the faces that everyone is familiar with,” he said.
Featured on the calendar pages are Town of Webb Supervisor Robert Moore, John “Louie” Ehrensbeck, Charlie Kiefer, James “Doc” Foley, Nanette Shovea-Burke, Rocco DePaul, Bob Card, Sandy Fetterman, Ronnie Parent, Al Nathan, Alice Deis, Miriam Davis Kashiwa and Walt Parent.
“I think it’s a really nice thing to do for the community. It’s fun to see the faces of people you know on the pages of the calendar,” Pritchard said.
The cost of the 13-month calendar is $10 and can be purchased at View, Frankie’s Taste of Italy, Sisters Bistro, Souvenir Village, TOW Bar Inn, Wilderness Interiors and Walt’s Diner.
Only 250 copies are available.
Zammiello has hopes that the production of a calendar will become an annual View fundraiser.
“With so many interesting characters in the community, the possibilities are endless,” he said. Zammiello recognized Sisters Bistro for co-sponsoring the project by providing financial support for the printing.
“Without their help the calendar would not exist,” he said.
