Letter to the Editor- Vote Klosner: We need to keep Herkimer County’s Justice seat

To the Editor:

I value and support the principles of the Republican Party.

However, I also understand there are, on occasion, matters which cross party lines and call for a united effort. We in Herkimer County face such a matter now.

The Republican Party in the Fifth Judicial District has recently endorsed Scott Klosner, our candidate for Supreme Court Justice.

There are four open seats for Supreme Court Justice in the district, which is comprised of six counties.

Currently, there are several candidates from the various counties running for these four seats.

The four candidates receiving the highest number of votes in the six county region will be elected in November.

Herkimer County is one of the smaller counties in this judicial district, which also includes Oneida, Onondaga, Oswego, Lewis and Jefferson Counties.

Every vote will be precious if we are to keep a sitting Supreme Court Justice here in Herkimer County.

Keeping a Supreme Court Justice in Herkimer County will benefit everyone in the county, regardless of your party affiliation.

Prescott “Scott” Klosner has a strong legal background and is making a tremendous personal commitment to run a campaign encompassing all six counties.

It will be expensive and time consuming but Scott, like many of us, feels it is vital to keep this Supreme Court Justice seat in Herkimer County.

The County Committee and I are confident he is up to the challenge.

We urge the residents of Herkimer County, no matter which party you are affiliated with, to support Scott Klosner our Herkimer County candidate for Supreme Court Justice. Let us stand together to keep this vital Supreme Court Justice seat here.

Sylvia M. Rowan Chairwoman of the Herkimer County Republican Committee
