CAP-21 names Tip of the CAP honorees; public invited to October 20th ceremony

All community members are invited to the Tip of the CAP Awards at the Forge Motel on Thursday, October 20 at 7 p.m.

Tip of the CAP is a public recognition event for individuals, businesses and organizations who have made a positive contribution to their communities.

Nominations have been made by community members and represent the towns of Forestport, Webb, Inlet and Long Lake.

Among this year’s nominations are Good Neighbors: Jack Scott, Anne and Rod Phinney, Lucy Luce, Bill Ransom, Daniel Roberts, Martha Denio, Diane Heroux and Kelly Noonan-Greene.

Area businesses to be recognized include Billy’s Italian-American Restaurant, Allen’s Fine Jewelry, Gifts & Repairs, Kalil’s Grocery, and the Strand Theatre of Old Forge.

This year’s Community Organizations to be recognized include Niccolls Women’s Fellowship; Connie Perry and the One Square Mile of Hope Committee; volunteers from View, the new arts center in Old Forge; Walter Paprock and the Woodgate Citizens Committee; MAC’s Safe Ride; and the Raquette Lake Free Library.

The Tip of The CAP Awards will immediately follow CAP-21’s annual business meeting, scheduled for 6:30 p.m.

The annual meeting will include a brief report to the community, as well as election of incoming Board Officers. Light hors d’oeurves and dessert will be served.

All community members along the Rte. 28 corridor are invited to join CAP-21 and its honored guests for this event.
