I must add my own thanks to Carol Hansen for her service to the Old Forge Library and the Town of Webb. I’m sorry I couldn’t be there for the 40th year celebration, but I’m sure everyone gave Carol the warm regards she deserves.
When I was serving on the tri-county Mid-York Library System board as a representative of Herkimer County, the System administration was able to distribute library construction funds from the State of New York.
Because Carol took on the project and gave countless hours of work to formulating the plan and presenting the proposal to the System Board, Old Forge was able to expand the building to the impressive size it is now.
Most communities the size of Old Forge do not have anything comparable to this Town Library. Because Carol is creative, persistent and dedicated, countless residents and visitors have a Library resource to be proud of.
My heartfelt congratulations to her for her achievements.
