Coach Janine Phaneuf’s Polar Bear Ski Club Nordic Youth Team competed in a Skate Race at McCauley Mountain on Sunday, February 21 and the NYSSRA Nordic Championship Races held at the Ski Bowl in North Creek on February 28th.

The Polar Bears had astonishing results in both competitions with individual racers placing first in all the respective age groups.

The race results of the February 21 race are:

U10 Girls 2.2 Km 

1st – Alivia Hopsicker, 13:10

2nd – Lydia Bartel, 15:14

3rd – Ella Putman,  17:26

U12 Girls 2.2 Km 

1st – Katie Hite, 11:47

2nd – Jenny Rundell, 13:15

3rd – Kerissa Dunn, 14:52

4th – Macy Capron, 19:36

U 14 Boys 4.4 Km 

1st – Jens Bartel, 18:55

2nd – Dawson Dunn, 30:18

U14 Girls  4.4 Km

1st – Renee Smith, 22:54

2nd – Chloe Hite, 25:49

Henry Uzdavinis was named U20 Champion with the most points earned this racing season.

The nordic racing season will wrap up the weekend of March 12 and 13th.
