To the Editor:
Last Saturday’s Chili Bowl Gathering at VIEW-arts reminded me that NO ONE does it alone!
As LIFE itself is one GRANDE RELAY of energy—our generation stepping on the shoulders of its prior counterparts. So, too, does this reach into our small Adirondack world and like events.
The enthusiasm of Saturday’s bowl-makers, that included Sherry and Nancy and others of Bette Rintrona’s mentorship, began the custom of today’s ‘chili bowls.’
Barb Getty’s groundwork enabled Jim’s stellar chili and soup assortment from generous chefs and restaurants from Boonville to Raquette Lake.
Folks like Liz and Sue led the way to organizing a busy kitchen with several Brians, Corys, Sandys… etc… etc.
Hazel, Nick, and others working tirelessly with volunteers like the Ellies, Marys, Lauries, followed the lead of Linda, Shirley, Margo… again, etc., etc.
I could list endlessly but think the point’s been made. The seeds planted before us continue to inspire… and allow us to welcome the hundreds who join with us to break bread, enjoy looking, listening, thinking… and whatever else the ARTS provide.
We ‘do’ it TOGETHER (hold an event). Isn’t it GRANDE we can celebrate TOGETHER, as well?
