Poet Genn Miley to host Open Mic Night, Feb. 17

Writers, aspiring writers, songwriters and members of the public are invited to the Old Forge Library’s Open Mic Night on Wednesday, February 17 at 7 p.m.

All are invited to share and read or perform from their own work or to come and enjoy readings by others. 

Writer and Poet Glenn Miley will host/emcee the evening. Miley will read some of his own work and open the stage for the public to share their work in a coffee house setting.

Miley, of Sherill, NY, is no stranger to the Old Forge Library.

He has won top honors in the Library’s Annual Poetry Exhibit four times as well as numerous other CNY Poetry contests.

He has emceed the Library’s Open Mic Night for Writers several times and led poetry workshops there as well.

Participants are asked to call the Library at (315) 369-6008 ahead of time though walk-ins are also welcome.

These readings are held to inspire writers and create opportunities for regional writers to meet. It is co-sponsored by the Old Forge Library and Adirondack Center for Writing, a resource and educational organization that provides support to writers and enhances literary activity and communication throughout the Adirondacks.
